Historic Façade Rehabilitation
BROOKLINE, MA
Built in 1915, this Italianate Revival apartment building was one of Brookline’s first fireproof structures. Clad in brick veneer with limestone details, the interior partitions were made of fireproof terracotta block supporting concrete beams. The building was converted in the 1970s from large and elegant floor through apartments into medical offices.
The renovation was a comprehensive project phased over many years that addressed both the exterior and interior of the structure. The scope of work included water infiltration mitigation, brick façade repairs, new aluminum insulated glass windows with historic panning details, new roofing, mechanical and electrical systems upgrades, elevator renovations and the addition of sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
Interior common area renovations included the restoration of the building’s original marble entrance lobby, common area finishes and lighting, accessibility upgrades and multiple office tenant fit up projects.
