BROOKLINE, MA

Located on an entire city block in the historic Cottage Farm District of Brookline, MA this apartment building complex with 409 units received a much-needed interior design renovation of its nine stories of common areas and lobbies. The new interiors are unashamedly retro reflecting back to the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic that was prominent in the 1970’s when the building was originally conceived and constructed.

The design of the lobby finds materials critical to the era speaking to functionality, clean lines and simplicity. The richness in color comes from walnut veneers used on the built in furnishings along with a prominent use of large format travertine tile on both walls and floor. Accents of glass and metal add vibrancy to the palette. A linear contemporary fireplace element complements the lower-level seating area that is furnished with walnut and leather upholsters sofas and chairs.

The redesign of the lobby included the relocation of all package deliveries to the lower level of the building providing highly improved functionality for both tenants and property management.
