Back Bay Condo

BOSTON, MA

This elegantly appointed pied-a-terre in Boston’s classic Bay Bay neighborhood was the result of a close collaboration between architect, client and contractor. A custom renovation design/build project for HCMC, work included help downsizing the clients’ personal furnishings, antiques and artwork to a more efficient and simplified setting that provided both charm and dignity.

The kitchen and bathrooms were fully gut renovated with every decision from countertops to light fixtures being studied in concert with the client’s personal tastes. A luxuriously stained ash hardwood flooring was introduced with areas of herringbone pattern to help define specific rooms. A wood-look porcelain tile, also installed in the herringbone pattern, was then selected for the bathrooms creating warmth and continuity throughout the space. A bespoke built-in glass cabinet was conceived between dining room and study allowing the space to flow freely with light and views to the Boston skyline. A contemporary linear fireplace was added to the living room creating a cozy setting while indirect lighting, clean finishes and rich materials brought polish and sophistication to this lovely home.
