400 Washington St.

SOMERVILLE, MA

This mixed-use four-story complex included fourteen loft style condominium units and ground floor retail space. The development was the focus of an extensive review by the Somerville Planning Board and concerned neighborhood groups as it was expected to set the course for further development along Washington Street between Cambridge and Somerville. Consequently, the exterior facades reflect the scale of nearby residential buildings and a set-back fourth floor reduces the perceived scale of the structure. Interiors included contemporary maple, granite and stainless-steel kitchens, hardwood floors and gas fireplaces.
